In January 2018 the driving instructor Part 3 test was changed and updated by the DVSA. The old style test was called PST’s (preset tests).

This was a roleplay based test where a DVSA examiner would play the role of learner and the trainee would then give a lesson chosen by the examiner to access their skills. There where 13 PST’s and you could prepare all of them.

Since January 2018 the new style part 3 test has changed dramatically. Now you have a real learner in your car and the examiner sits in the back of your lesson and essentially grades you on your teaching and communicating skills. With more emphasis given to what is now called “Client Centred Learning”.

Client Centred Learning is an approach to learning that takes into account how a learner prefers to learn. When people learn in this way they are more likely to retain information and skills. Thus truly making them the best and safest driver they can be.

At Kinetic our trainers are all specialists in Client Centred Learning and take great pride in passing on their skills and knowledge to their trainees.

Making sure each trainee is taught to the most up to date levels advised by the DVLA and naturally teaching in client centred learning techniques.

This not only ensures that we train and produce great driving instructors but it gives you the best opportunity of passing the part 3 exam and achieves the highest pass marks possible.
